Hello! My name is Elise and my passion is to help people feel good in their clothes through tailoring and custom garment making. I started this blog to help others learn to sew and alter their own clothes, and to connect with others in the sewing community. As a regular reader of my blog, you will learn about different techniques for altering clothes, garment care , sewing patterns, and sewing tools.

I have worked as a costume designer, backstage theatre wardrobe dresser, seamstress, and garment fit analyst. Helping others gain skills to repair, rework, alter and make their clothes fit them in their own style is my “thing”. I love seeing someone put something on that I’ve altered or made and can tell that they feel fabulous. That’s why I created the resource “Tailoring: What to Know Before You Sew” (yours free if you sign up for my emails) to help you figure out how to approach your own alterations before you even get to the sewing machine.
